Job Overview
Descripción

As a Worksite Volunteer, you'll be serving alongside our community members and workforce trainees to repair and improve homes for low-income families, seniors, and individuals with disabilities. Tasks may include minor carpentry, painting, yard work, and basic plumbing or electrical work. No prior construction experience is necessary—just a willingness to learn and help!

What to Wear

Volunteers should dress to ensure safety and comfort while performing home repair and construction tasks. Be prepared to get dirty!

Volunteers Should Wear:

·      Sturdy, closed-toe shoes or work boots – No sandals or open-toe shoes for safety.

·      Durable pants (jeans or work pants preferred) – Avoid shorts or leggings, as long pants provide better protection.

·      T-shirt or long-sleeve shirt (long sleeves preferred) – Avoid loose or baggy clothing that could get caught in tools.

Additional Recommended Gear:

·      Hat, cap, sunglasses, etc. – For sun protection when working outdoors.

·      Weather-appropriate clothing – Layers for cold weather, rain gear if necessary.

·      Work gloves (if you have them) – To protect hands from splinters, sharp edges, and rough surfaces.

What NOT to Wear:

·      Flip-flops, sandals, or dress shoes – These do not provide proper foot protection.

·      Loose or dangling jewelry – Can pose a safety hazard.

If personal protective equipment (PPE) is required for specific tasks, it will be provided on-site.

What to Bring

Please also bring a packed lunch and plenty of water – Volunteers will be working for extended periods, sometimes outdoors. Breaks will be provided, but food and beverages may not be available on-site.
